KPMG’s tax O&G practice offers a broad range of services and provides legal support of a high quality to Russian and international O&G majors.

Projects:

General tax advice to O&G companies (upstream and downstream) on mineral extraction tax (MET), corporate profit tax (CPT), value added tax (VAT) and excise duties matters Tax audit and tax review engagements Due diligences/Restructurings Drafting tax accounting methodologies Tax effective structuring of international inbound and outbound operations Preparing applications for federal and regional tax incentives

Responsibilities

You may be involved in:

Participation in marketing and client development events to promote tax service to O&G companies Management of junior staff (set goals and tasks, allocate responsibilities, set direction for achieving goals, be involved in counseling and appraisal process)

To fulfill the role the candidate is expected to meet the following requirements:

University degree in Tax Law, Taxation Minimum 3 years of experience in taxation Experience in one of Big4 firms is required Experience in O&G tax issues (MET, customs and excise duties) is required Solid knowledge of Russian tax legislation Knowledge of O&G taxation trends (excess profits tax, tax maneuver, excise offsetting system for refineries) is preferable Knowledge of subsurface legislation fundamentals and practice of upstream projects structuring in Russia (licensing system, PSA, LNG) is preferable Relevant Russian or international qualification is a plus Native Russian speaker, English – upper-intermediate to work on projects Strong Russian and English writing skills is a must Good presentation, communication and analytical skills Ability to supervise several projects simultaneously Good team player
