Responsibilities:

Responsibility for relevant engineering projects.

Ensure effective communication and interface definition between all disciplines for relevant project design, review and check progresses.

Actively train and encourage the development of Russian junior engineering staff.

Provide detailed discipline engineering input during all design phases, including interpretation of standards.

Provide highest quality discipline input into conceptual design teams.

Single Point responsibility for the integrity and quality of work within the Civil/Structural Engineering discipline.

Ensure effective communication and interface definition between all disciplines for design development, review and check progresses.

Represent Company in coordination with Client discipline for monitoring and variance control of Client standards. Ensure robust challenge of company standards as part of normal working practice.

Identify potential applications for new technologies in discipline area.

Actively train and encourage the development of Russian and junior engineering staff to fulfil discipline engineering role providing Competency Assessment, Staff Mentoring, On the Job Training (OJT), and arranging discipline specialist courses.

Provide detailed discipline engineering input during all design phases, including interpretation of standards.

Lead discipline specific design reviews (HAZOP, HAZID, IPF etc.) and participate in other discipline design reviews as appropriate.

Preparation of CTR’s.

Skills/Qualifications:

Structural Analysis / Primary Steel (Note 1) and Structural Design / General Technical.

Project Scopes (EPC, FEED and Brownfield experience).

Materials of Construction.

Constructability Experience.

Have good understanding of Structural Steel Specifications and Shell DEP’s.

Knowledge of Russian Specifications.

Personally resilient, flexible, self-confident, and assertive.

Required to work in multi-disciplinary team.

Able to communicate / interface with project team and engineering personnel.

The candidate should have an ‘Adequate’ command of the English language. English training will be provided.

Demonstrate good safety awareness.

Proficient in use of Stadd Pro, PDMS or similar 3-D engineering design software.

Self-motivated, well organised, confident, good verbal and written skills.

Fluent spoken and written English.

Minimum of 5 years’ experience in the design of large oil and gas facilities involving heavy rotating/static equipment, foundations, facilities, buildings, support structures using computerised tools such as STAAD or equivalent.

Full conversant with relevant International (ANSI, ASTM, API, BSI, IP, IOS, IEC, IEEE etc.) standards.

Field Experience in construction and commissioning is strongly preferred.

Due to extensive use of European standards, must have proven successful experience for large European clients with facilities built in UK/Europe to UK/European standards.

Experience with Shell Group projects and standards are strongly preferred.

Design & Engineering experience in the following industries would be an advantage: on shore Petrochemical plants, large complex industrial projects, large manufacturing plants, off-shore production facilities.

Additional experience of a Civil/Structural construction environment would be an advantage as is any formal qualification in the oil & gas industry

Degree in discipline specific Engineering (B.Sc./B.Eng/M.Sc) and membership of internationally recognised applicable professional institute and preferably Post Graduate degree in Engineering.
