This position is within the Operator (TCO) Quality team based in Aktau, Kazakhstan. The QC Inspector (Mechanical) will interface with the Main Automation Contractor (MAC) and Fabricator (CCT). This position is responsible for monitoring the mechanical and structural inspections and tests associated with the RIE fabrication in Atyrau.
Detailed Responsibilities:
Ensure project plans and procedures are developed in compliance with contractual and regulatory requirements. Ensure effective implementation and co-ordination of inspection activities. Monitor all aspects of Quality Control during the fabrication and installation, to ensure adherence to the company technical requirements and applicable codes, including safety-in-design Conduct witnessed inspection points in accordance with the applicable Inspection & Test Plan (ITP) Ensures compliance with governing standards, approved drawings and approved Inspection and Test Plan, ensure non-conformances are identified, tracked and closed out. Ensure effective implementation of non-conformance, corrective action, preventive action and root cause analysis processes. The QC Inspector (Mechanical) is responsible for ensuring that the safe execution of the equipment manufacture/fabrication conforms with the project plans and procedures. The QC Inspector (Mechanical) must ensure that the equipment manufacture/fabrication within his/her control is safe, compliant, cost-effective and timely. The QC Inspector (Mechanical) must be able to develop a working knowledge of the project specifications, as well as the referenced industry standards, to apply in the manufacturing/fabrication shops The QC Inspector (Mechanical) shall follow up on any outstanding or punch list items or Carry Over Work as related to their discipline and area assigned and provide timely responses to requests from project team members. Coordinate with QA/QC personnel and ensure that every aspect of inspection is completed prior to commencement of the next stage of manufacture/fabrication/installation. Monitor the preservation, packing, transport and shipment/freight works of the equipment. Well versed in QA/QC and HSE requirements, ISO standards, Inspection Release Certificates. Timely submission of Inspection Reports and report to Management of any problem resulting from the inspection and to propose proper corrective action.Competencies/ Experience/ Qualifications:
Essential: Shall be certified as an American Welding Society (AWS) Certified Welding Inspector (CWI), CSWIP 3.1 Welding Inspector or approved equivalent.
This position requires a minimum of six (6) years’ experience in welding/mechanical Quality Control / Inspection.
Shall be conversant with associated industry standards, AWS D1.1, ASME V, ASME IX
Demonstrated skills with both written and oral communications in English to articulate complex situations
Computer literate including Microsoft Office tools
Ability to plan, schedule, coordinate and complete multiple activities over a broad range of activities
Can work independently with minimal guidance and within the project team.
Manages time to meet objectives and recognises possible impact on related functions.
Contributes to achievement of team goals and promotes teamwork.
Preferred: Valid or previous Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) ASNT/ISO9712 Level II qualifications.
