Our company is working on the largest implementation project in the world of Industrial IoT based on Predix IIoT platform (see predix.io).
The system collects, parses and ingests petabytes of data from sensors across oil&gas industrial facilities in Russia. It uses machine learning and predictive analytics to prevent equipment failure and industrial accidents as well as improve business performance.

Role Summary/Purpose
Data Scientist is responsible for launching the data science function in Russia. The team will build predictive and descriptive models and solving data preprocessing tasks in Oil & Gas domain (Upstream / Downstream).
Responsibilities
Conducting complete data research and summarizing findings in the data; Formulating hypotheses and identifying issues to be addressed by the client (Oil & Gas - Upstream / Downstream); Perform data collection, preprocessing, feature engineering, data visualization and analysis. Build automation of data collection and preprocessing. Build models to address business problems. Design, develop, test and support predictive and descriptive analytical microservices to operationalize and productize deployment of resulting models Support the process of developing user-stories for model development; Support software engineers in developing and delivering models to the production environment (Cloud Foundry/Predix).Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or in “STEM” Majors (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) A minimum of 3-year experience managing the Data Science function in a business environment Experience in preprocessing of raw data, time series Experience with preprocessing poorly documented data OR at least willingness to deal with it You treat each data science assignment as a mini research project which requires a clear-cut problem definition Fluent English to work with US team members Background in Industrial areas (Oil & Gas) is a strong advantage, but not mandatory
